Lambo’s new Aventador

The new Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Roadster has a lightweight hardtop that will have to be removed by your own sweat and stowed away in the front of the car in order to appreciate the fine open air. What Lamborghini calls a ‘Forged Composite” technology roof makes use of carbon fibre rather than titanium, and weighs a mere 6 kilograms.
To accommodate this new roof the Aventador Roadster sports a redesigned B-pillar that integrates the automatic roll-over protection mechanism that protects the passengers and provides airflow to the engine.
The Aventador Roadster features a two-tone finish which includes a metallic blue that is reminiscent of the 1968 Miura Roadster – which is a pretty cool reference if you ask us. The Aventador is lightened by a further 10kgs with the 20- and 21-inch lightweight forged aluminium wheels at the front and the back of the Roadster.
Another resdesign is the Aventador’s engine cover which now includes four six-sided windows aside a central pillar that allows the engine to be cooled and water to runoff effectively. This design also shows off the 6.5-litre V12 engine to the world. The naturally-aspirated engine produces 515Kw and a severe 690Nm of torque and is mated to an automatic 7-speed transmission with all-wheel drive and will sprint from 0-100km/h in only 3 seconds, only a fraction of a second slower than the coupe – which is pretty impressive. The top speed is an unregulated 349km/h. The Roadster features stop/start technology as well as cylinder deactivation to bring the fuel consumption down to approximately 16-litres per 100km and CO2 emissions have been reduced to 370g/km.
The Aventador also features a new rear window that can be adjusted to control airflow over the Roadster and allows you to choose just how loud you want the V12’s noise to be in the cabin. On top of the front window a removable wind deflector prevents swirl inside the cabin and keeps things nice and cosy.
